The International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology has been successfully developing for the last 24 years; in Lesvos (1989 1991, 1993, 1995 and 1997), Samos (1999), Syros (2001), Limnos (2003), Rhodes (2005), Kos (2007), Chania (2009); to an important venue in the Mediterranean attracting engineers, scientists, students, managers and other professionals from many different countries. The success of this biannual conference reflects the critical environmental topics that are discussed as well as the quality of the presented papers. All the papers that are selected for either oral or poster presentation undergo a review process. It should be noted that as a result of the improving quality of presentations in previous conferences, the proceedings of the 7th, 8th,9th,10th and 11th CEST have been included in the major data banks of the international scientific community, such as Science Citation Index (ISI), Chemical Abstracts and SRCosmos. Selected presented papers will also be considered (with the authors’ consent) for inclusion in a special issue of the "GLOBAL NEST Journal", following the procedure adopted with the previous conferences.
