REVIEW OF PAPERS - CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

SCOPE

The announcement of the eleventh International biennial Conference on Environmental Science and Technology continues the well established tradition of a successful series of CEST Conferences dating back to 1989. Like the previous ones this conference maintains and upgrades the synthetic and integrated approach towards protection and upgrading of the environment, by bringing together engineers, scientists, students, managers and other professionals from different countries, involved in various aspects of environmental science and technology. This synthetic approach, in combination with the integration of environmental issues with economic and social aspects, is a prerequisite for adopting sustainable solutions to the numerous contemporary environmental problems.

The quality of the conference programmes over the last 20 years has been continuously improving and currently stands at a very satisfactory level internationally. The competition is significant and a rigorous review process can guarantee that the best thinking and practical application will be presented in the forthcoming event.

A new feature considered to become a part of the series of conferences is the organisation of parallel workshops/seminars. Ideas and proposals for such workshops which promote and disseminate knowledge and encourage in depth debate about challenging issues, are welcome.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Papers are invited on the topics mentioned above.

For further instruction on paper submission, please see Instructions to authors.

WORKSHOPS

The aim of organising workshops is to facilitate discussion on specific topics. They differ from normal Conference sessions in that they will encourage discussion between presenters and delegates. The Scientific and Programme Committee seeks proposals for suitable subject areas. Proposals should be submitted by 15 December 2008 and should include a summary of the workshop outlining its objectives and scope, the participants (detailing speakers and the expected audience) and any expected outcomes.

YOUNG RESEARCHERS

Young researchers are particularly encouraged to present their research work. Notwithstanding submission of papers on specific aspects of their research  they  are urged to take the additional opportunity of submitting an outline of their recently completed or at a mature stage PhD work. The purpose of these presentations is not to subject the research work to scrutiny or critical evaluation by specialists, but to inform, through an appropriate formulation of the presentation, the wider scientific and professional community on recent advances in various fields of Environmental Science and Technology.

The overall presentation should focus on scope and objectives, main results and novel findings, main conclusions and suggestions for further research. Depending on the responses, special sessions may be allocated for these presentations.

REVIEW OF PAPERS - CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

Papers will be provisionally accepted by the Scientific Committee on the basis of the extended abstracts. The full papers will be reviewed before final acceptance for oral presentation.

All accepted papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings. It should be noted that as a result of the improving quality of presentation in previous conferences the proceedings of the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th CEST have been included in the major data banks of the international scientific community, such as ISI, Chemical Abstracts and SRCosmos.

Selected presented papers will also be considered (with the authors' consent) for inclusion in a special issue of the "Global NEST Journal", following the procedure adopted with the previous conferences.
